    Build 60 Performance issues

I seem to be the only one who isn't praising build 60 but for me, the ingame performance has dropped off a cliff. I used to be able to run the game in high settings with HDR turned on and now with build 60 I have to turn it off to get the game anywhere near playable and the game has also developed a severe stuttering which has got so bad I've got no choice but to revert back to the previous build. I hope this is just a blip and that things improve.

"Moved all HDR processing to GPU." This is what's screwed me. My GFX card could handle everything before this and my under used processor was happy doing the HDR. Gonna have to go back to build 49 for definate.

I got the same problem my machine is very powerfull but since release i always get stuttering now Im gutted.

    For me too.
Altough frames went up there is more stuttering and microstutter.
I have read that they disabled tripple buffer in the game..........maybe thats the reason.
I have got high end Hardware, think its a software based problem.

    In build 49 have set
    Max framerate = 60
    Flush Previous Frame="1"
    Vsync=off
and i had very smooth gameplay.

In build 60 that doesn't help anymore.

There is another issiue with high FPS drops, specialy when driving with UI Cars.............in Portugal these drops are extreme in some always the same places on track.

I try to tweak further...........but have already tried nearly everything.

I had a strange crash bug where the game would get stuck on a black screen so yes, I've reinstalled it about 4 times and it hasn't helped. For me at least I know its the fact they moved HDR processing onto the Graphics card processing unit. A strange desiscion I think because the game is hard on graphics cards but not on CPUs. Moving the HDR has sent my admitidly old graphics card into meltdown.

So when you switch HDR off your game runs smooth ?

The actual frame rate increases dramatically but I still get weird stuttering which is so severe I cannot play this build

are you using vsync ? Then maybe try the different vsync modes or turn it off and set manualy max. framerate to 60 in player file.

My system is lower end spec, but this update is working nicely for me.

I got an extra 10 or so FPS with everything on HIGH except Sun Occlusion turned off... then I turned on HDR and FXAA and everything came to life.. well, more life-like. Other cars look brilliant now.. everything does.. and it only cost the extra 10FPS I got without HDR and FXAA on.

And yes the stuttering has returned... it's not unplayable though.. just a little annoying at times.

Since trying again I deleted my userprofile and started again then edited the flush line to 1 and turned off recording the game is now nice and smooth

    Hi,
I havent tested it thouroughly yet, but in Monaco and old F3, my fps went from 50 to 25 since the new update.
First I just updated the game on top of the build 49 and second I did reinstalled from scratch except I'm using my old player.plr (I don't want to reactivate).
I tried HDR, FXAA, software and GPU and it's all the same.

So, If for some it doubled the fps for me, its the reverse, it dropped 50% and I'll be forced to go back to build 49.

Yeah, something went south in this update.

My fps dropped about 15 fps in this update UNTIL I deleted my PLR file and had it create a new one, now I've got an INCREASE of about 20 fps from build 49.

From what I've seen in some other threads, some people who edited their PLR file in build 49 to try and address the stuttering and framerate issues are getting worse performance in build 60 until they wipe out the PLR file.

So give that a shot and see if that helps.

Yeah, I had a similar problem with the update. Deleting my userdata folder (apart from the Controller subfolder) fixed it for me... Although you do have to reactivate.

I can now run everything on max, 60fps at 1080p

I'm suprised this has such an impact, I will try it and report back.

Trouble is and I'm as guilty as anyone is assuming everyone running rF2 also ran (run?) rF1 where deleting the PLR file was (is) standard practice for troubleshooting.
