Dropping rfactor 2 to desktop

When I drop rfactor and rfactor 2 to desktop with Alt/Tab sometimes (not always) it will not allow me to return to the game. I have to go into Task Manager and shut the game down and make a restart.
Anyone else have this problem? Is there another way to drop the screen to desktop?
