Tim said this year, so to be able to keep calm and help yourself to wait patiently, the best thing to do is prepare yourself for worst case scenario which is December the 31st. That way, you wont get a sore butt from sitting on the edge of your seat for long periods of time and if it comes earlier, then it becomes a bonus

In your case, and also in my case, worst case scenario is 1st of january USA new year is a few hours later then europe, and the difference with australia is even bigger :P

having said that, I still do trust ISI that it will be earlier then that. And if not, well, nothing we can do about it really

They said beta in 2011, if they do not change this status, we just have to wait until 2012 to see it.

Purchase testing should announce it's for soon, dont worry.
But i really would like some progress report about what's going on in different area of the sim + i like to see modders happy with the specs and docs given for rFactor 2.

Open beta still looks like this year. CLOSED Beta process is taking longer than hoped though, so the longer it takes, the more the open beta gets behind it and therefore the initial release. But we can't estimate stage 2 and 3 100% accurately until stage 1 (closed beta) ends.... We can try, but your estimates are as good as ours until the closed beta ends.

Before Christmas was a month and 5 days. How do we measure time "Coming soon"? "Coming soon" - is too long. November will end in 10 days, 2 of which weekend. The content of beta versions is not known.
