Gorgeous!
I think he's referring to the windscreen bug. I still have that too, btw.
Could it be that the multiview apply some sort of image warp instead of two new cameras? So render flat and then apply a transform to 'sorta' make it look decent on side screens? That would probably...
Weird part is that in heavy traffic when the performance goes down I see LESS CPU use than when running good. So there's some bottleneck that still needs unwinding.
I use software sync and the game is silky smooth at 60fps.
I'm not complaining, I have awesome performance, and if that means nVidia, Intel or ISI finally figured something out I couldn't care less. GPU usage goes up in more pure gfx situations like back of...
Well, what I'm seeing is near 100% usage on all four cores, I have no idea what part of the software is using them, and for what. All I know is that performance is flawless and the proper CPU use...
I use AIDA64 to display all kids of info in realtime on my G19 display. It's brilliant!
We still have the supersaturation issue, though. But seems a little better in 107.
Tried 107 today, and noticed you have finally unlocked some bottleneck in the engine. Solid performance, and I saw near 100% usage on all four cores. This resulted in my GPU running near idle,...
Tim, are the two sliders we have available to us ingame interconnected at all? Or will strength ONLY impact outright pace and aggression ONLY impact behaviour?
The surface temps will approach carcass temps pretty fast. I usually drive a few laps to get tires up to a good, stable temperature and then drive slow for a while to see where the temps seem to end...

Are you sure they aren't just outbraking themselves? I see that alot whn I'm behind them.
Also, afaik the aggression control their behaviour, strength control their speed. Try a higher number and...
I think the 'problem' is that the tires don't catch fire and disintegrate like they would in real life at those temps. This allows some unrealistic peak tiretemps. For normal operation it seems...
The displayed temps are SURFACE temps, that can vary wildly during cornering and tire load situations. You are probably used to see tire carcass temperatures which are much more stable.
This video...
Still don't work.
The G25 is set as ID#1.
Nope, that doesn't work.
Clipped channels can't be 'adjusted' back, ie the lost information can't be recovered anywhere down the signal chain. ISI needs to fix this, it looks crap.
Is there any way to force it up the list? I am using Win7
I have many gamecontrollers on my computer, and I assume this might be the problem.
My G25 isn't recognized by rFactor at all. It is number 5 or 7 in my list of controllers, depending on which...
I have struggled with my HD6990 since beta opened, and haven't had satisfactory performance.
Switched to GTX680 and I now run everything maxed, HDR, AA, the lot. At the back of a 27 car grid (60...
Same here, ATi user.
You guys have heard of 'Automation' right? How awesome would it be to export engines from there into rF2?!? :D
I calculated it to 26, which is exactly what I had set on my own. :)
Cool thing about vertical FOV is that we don't have to bother with it going from single to triple screen. now we only need to...
Some games want angle A, others want the 'complete' angle, which is double. In iracing you enter the values mentioned, and the resulting FOV is calculated and feels correct. The resulting FOV for my...
There can be only one correct FOV. That is easily calculated based on screen width, aspect and distance to your eye.
Go to this calculator.
In the 'a' field type in HALF your display width in...
Tried the latest ATI beta drivers 12.8.98, and they seem alot better to me. I get 100+ fps at MidOhio in the F3, 70-ish at the back of the field at start. This is single screen, though. Triplescreen...
With some combination of settings for Xfire handling and ingame syncing you get the situation where rFactor starts up and renders on both GPUs, but the secondary one isn't brought out of powersaving...
Actually managed to make both GPUs fire on all cylinders today. triplescreen is still unplayable, but had 80+ fps in single screen, all settings maxed.
Set the gpu driver X-fire settings to 1x1...
I would if I could. Get 25fps with eyefinity enabled. Overall I get mediocre performance, hope they get it fixed soon!
Ok, tried it with my calibrated displays (both the LCD and projector), and both exhibit significant red clipping in the latest build. It's almost as bad as iRacing in this respect, actually. So,...
Got ATi GPUs and GPU #2 never goes out of powersaving mode. This makes the system wait so much for this GPU that even the CPU throttles down to powersaving. GPU #1 is running full clocks, but since...
Which is why i LOVE the iRacing system where you input your screen size, distance and aspect, and out pops the correct FOV. Currently using 143 degrees in iRacing, and verified correct by...
Adjust, or calibrate displays?
I'm not on my calibrated monitir right now, so I won't comment. In that video it seems a bit overdone, but can't say I've noticed anything playing on my proper...
Sorry but this made no sense. Maybe a friend knows english and can translate?
Well. I've pretty much just resigned myself to running rF2 in single screen mode. I truly love the physics and look&feel to bits, so I still drive alot. Having 60-120fps in most situations means it's...
I can get 80fps too if I set resolution adn settings low enough. The point is I should be able to run this stable near maxed on three screens like other gfx intensive sims, or at least see heavy...
By that I mean all of the above and alot more. I can get driveable performance on a single screen. If I venture into triplescreen resolutions and FOV it's unacceptable. By unacceptable I mean less...
I see the posts complaining about performance is starting to dwindle away. Have y'all found the magic bullet to performance, or just given up?
I have nowehere near good performance in this game...
With my decent setup it doesn't even play nice on a single screen, let alone on three. Again, iRacing set the bar on triplescreen support. Gorgeous and very fast. Also very easy to get it looking...
When you warm the brakes a little you can easily lock up, especially the unloaded wheel.
I've done a few trackdays, and can tell you that there is an enormous difference in hot and cold brakes,...
I've been monitoring CPU and GPU usage in this sim and I've made the same observations most here have. More apparent load means less apparent utilization of the relevant component.
So, what does...
Would this have any impact on an i7 at all? Is there any benefit of setting affinity on a 'proper' quadcore?
That would be true if I became CPU bound, but adding AI does NOT add CPU load. In fact, CPU load DECREASE with added AI.
I find that the FFB is very nice once you get decent framerates. Mine is 'ok', but triplescreen is unuseable atm.
I will conduct a similar test to Niels' and report back.
I propose we make a...
Very interesting that GPU utilization goes DOWN as detail increase. I see the same with CPU, where adding AI DECREASE the CPU load. Something is bottlenecking BADLY in this software, no doupt about...
Having a 'standard' replay should work, though. Someone post a representative replay in a dedicated/sticky, and we post our results.
Vince, what I meant by wasting cycles is that at MOST I get 80% usage of a single core, and only for short bursts. The software is written to utilize two cores, and as the framerate is rather poor I...
I have v-sync stutters even with a solid fps. Without v-sync I run consistently 100-150fps on a single screen, and with v-sync on I get bad stutters. Turning off v-sync and limiting to 60fps I get...
