I have been casually simming for more than a decade now and this is the only thing that helps me find my way around rf2.
While talking with friends and persuading them to join the wanderfull world of sim racing, I often catch myself wishing they dont, or else Ill have to spend countless hours over the phone, explaining everything over and over again.
The manual I would like to see is not the kind of " the vsync (or whatever) button activates vsync" lol, but a thorough explanation of functions and meanings of the workings of the sim.
There are a lot of things people here take for granted but when I started it was not at all obvious for me that a controller was my wheel, a stick, a keyboard not to mention more complicated things as...pitstops.
A lot of people also forget that not all are native English speaking also not all are pc masters so a proper manual for me would start from the simplest things possible and moving on to more specialised matters that I see even here people are asking.
Perhaps the community could help in such a project? Surely you people have all the knowledge needed and I would like to believe the motivation too.:)

I've been liking the new GT cars quite a lot, the only thing that bugs me about it is the engine sound.

Real GT-R

It's not bad per se, the growl from the real GT-R is definately there. However, I feel that at higher revs, the sound loses its punch, almost like if the volume gets lowered towards gear limiter.

The real engine also has that typical angry mechanical sound, while the sounds ingame sound digital and compressed. There's no sense of progression through the revs.

Ok Drivers that wish to do so may now Sign up on our league website.
Only drivers that have signed up can be included in the Leagues Points and Drivers Standings this is due to it being a requirement of the League software, It can only track the stats of drivers that are in its database, But anyone can still enter your information will just be dropped by the software once the quali & race XML is uploaded as your name will not be located in the database, We do not wish to exclude any Driver from our races we feel this is the best way to suit everyone.
It is a simple registration and we @ ARI do not hand any private information on to any other 3rd party.

Remember Drivers can sign up at any time during the season But you will only get Driver Standings after

If your in from the start then you start scoring point at the next event it seems like a no Brainer to me.

All outside shots/other cam angles are fine, but sit in the cockpit and suddenly this Haze appears and its kinda wrong to me, I'd prefer the vibrant colours from all the other views personally (Right pic below).

Apologies if discussed before or known about, but what is it exactly? a bug? a feature? what?

I paused and un-paused to get the screenshots below to show you what I'm babbling on about, left is with the Haze, right without:

But im finding that the AI is just so perfect - doesnt really make mistake and they all just drive in perfect line ..driving a perfect race all getting just off what is the best lap taime possible.. and they are really hard to compete against hard to catch up ... ever

at least just make 2 or 3 guys good.. and some medium and some guys slower .. it seems all ai is the same....

no slow guys? no push away leaders? no crashes... ever

I have downloaded the new tracks (Searspoint, putnam, etc) but how can I use them on my dedicated server! I have seen those small 5mb mods that allow you to do this but as of yet I've only found one for the 1960 cars and the meganes.

I want to race the Renault 3.5 cars around the new tracks. Any ideas or how do I create these mods? I would love to run this mod on a commercial server. However, two companies Hostile Contact and Gamer Hosting can't get the mod installed.

Is there going to be a better way to install mods like this one onto a commercial server?

And I'll ask the question here, because neither company seems to want to answer it. How come they don't just let you access the GUI of the game?

I'm extremely frustrated... I've spent no fewer than 100 hours of my time to get one of these commercial servers doing what I want them to do. It took me less than an hour to get "F3's@???=Fun! The Original" up and running on my home server.

IsI, please help me!

One server I'm paying for, Gamer Hosting is loaning me a server for one week to see if I/they can get this mod to work on it.

Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.
