Rain problem

In my server ARI at the moment we are testing changing weather, it's got great potential and most guys seem to enjoy the challenge. I'm getting a problem in races that start to rain and instead of seeing rain drops I see these huge blobs falling from the sky, promise I'm not smoking anything:P
It's creating lag through the lap. Anyone else seeing this?

i am getting this too sometimes. like 4 times its raining ok, next time surfboards falling from the sky. very strange.
